Quest for beauty make up bag – hat box style
21cm diameter of crochet round, 10cm depth side.
These are large round hat box style ‘bags’. The one above I use as a ‘catch all’ for my make up products. The front and back are crochet rounds (of 10 rows each) and the side is constructed of one length of ribbed knitting 10cm wide. and there is a little handle on the top of the bag for carrying. I made this in 2010 and after a year I can report it has held up well to my rough treatment.
The patch is an appropriated image from a Dali sketch that I have changed slightly. Because this was intended to be a make up bag, it was only appropriate to use an image that dealt with the quest for beauty – whatever form that takes.
Don’t run with scissors – hat box
A hat box with a lesson to learn. I finished this yesterday for a commission piece. The dimensions are 21cm diameter and 10cm depth. Same as above 9 rows on the round. The side measures 10 cm across (stitch one purl one across the row) and is knitted with carpet wool and acrylic. The top and bottom rounds are constructed from 100% raw cotton string.
The best thing about the hat box style is that it is different and versatile. This box can be used as a catch all for anything and holds it’s own as a stylish storage solution.
I plan to sell these in my shop so watch that space. ‘Follow me’ if your interested in any of the products/garments featured on this blog. I intend to list similar products on myshop site – watch this space
