Burda Style is an online community of like-minded souls who sew.

You can browse what is on offer prior to joining – which is great!!

There are plenty of free patterns to choose from as well as patterns that have a small cost attached. There are also great projects and techniques that have been provided by other users. This site requires you to set up an account with them to access the downloads and registration is free. Well worth the effort and great for inspiration and support.

RAVELRY ♥♥♥♥♥

Ravelry is an online community of people who love to knit and crochet. You need to register an account with them before you can browse their offerings. To register an account is free and the link will take you to the home register page.

Ravelry have a range of skill level patterns ranging from easy to advanced so every skill level is catered for. There is over 64,000 patterns available on this website inclusive of 19,000+ free patterns most are available in PDF downloadable format.  If you haven’t seen this site before – be warned you could get lost for days browsing through all the amazing things on offer.

The ravelry community is thriving and always have their needles at the ready with the addition of 100’s of new patterns daily – so if knitting and crochet are your thing, or you are looking for something different join this community.  You won’t be disappointed.

Instructables ♥♥♥♥

If there is anything you want to know about anything – you need to look here….. They have everything imaginable. A bit light on the sewing  and clothing side of things. But if you want to know how to make the most unusual creative things out of duct tape and a few paper clips  and an LED bulb for example you cannot give this site a miss.

There is a cost to register which has it’s benefits like no advertising pop ups and the ability to download the instructions in PDF. Although it is not necessary as the full instructions can be viewed for free page by page most of the images can be viewed as well.

If you in the market for the most ridiculous ideas, or looking for some handy advice – check this site out.
